The driver view is to be used by ambulance staff in the field in order to receive rescues, add images of patients, record location and rescue/release timings. There are a number of different types of cases that can appear in the driver view:
Rescue
Release
StreetTreat
StreetTreat Release
Each case in the driver view has a number of states depending on the type of case it is. These states are separate from the outstanding case board swimlanes.
Assigned - This is cases that are assigned to the driver but have yet to be started.
In Progress - These cases have been started and are currently in progress.
In Ambulance - This is where the patient is currently in the ambulance. Animals in ambulance will be displayed on the ambulance header on the outstanding case board. The purpose is so that it is possible to see how many patients are in each ambulance when assigning new cases.
Complete - These cases are ones that have been admitted or otherwise have an outcome. They appear in the list so that drivers are able to eaily see the work they have completed that day.
Each case has a list of buttons that both describe the progress of the case, and allow the user to carry out the action described. For instance the below case is a release that is in the assigned state, and has an enabled Picked up button meaning that the user can click this button and then marked the animal as picked up from the shelter. The other buttons are inactive, because the associated actions need to be carried out in order. For instance, you can't admit and animal before it has been rescued.
When the user clicks the Picked up button the user will have the ability to enter the picked up time. The user can also update the location of the animal and take pictures of the animal:
When the user hits the save button the case will move to the In progress state and this will also be reflected on the Outstanding Case Board.
As the case progresses the update form in the above image will update to match the current step and the Picked Up button will change to match.
Map
The driver view has a map where the drivers can view the location of existing cases.
Call Desk Button
The call desk button can be used to call the organisation's default number. This can be set in the Organisations page.
Geolocation
When a user is assigned to an ambulance and logs in on a mobile device the Driver View will begin logging the current location of the device every 30 seconds. For this to work the application must be running and visible on the user's device. The location, current number of patients on board and time on the road will all be displayed on hte outstanding case board. Also, the current location will appear on the outstanding case map as well.
Timer
A time can be seen counting down at the top of the driver view. This defaults to 2 1/2 hours after which time the time will go red and the ambulance should be heading back to the shelter to drop off any patients picked up. Limiting the amount of time patients spend in the ambulance before they reach the sheltr is vital in ensuring the best possible outcome for the patient.
